a superhero's life is cyclical. Given the editorial guidelines, totally at the feet of sales and number of public taste (although sometimes it seems the opposite), it is necessary not affected by the passing years but also to evolve according to fashion, although this causes the problem of adjust some issues that can not be changed by intrinsic to the character.
For Superman is not the first time this has happened. It alters your past, there is as valid a past that did not exist before or directly through another longer valid and may even disappear as if it never existed. Not always correct and often touching fix it quickly and bad.
Other times what it does is say that is another time line, a parallel reality or just a imaginary story (well, it rather gave up something of the eighties) and so everything is fine again. The hero is still the classic and everything has been solved.
Here is where lies "Superman: Earth one" in a reality that is not ours (I mean the accepted story of the comics) and in which a young twenty years totally different from others has to decide on his future, but what should a boy can fly?

With this premise Straczynsky depart again to tell the origins of super man but of a somewhat more realistic, in what is possible in someone who could break steel with his hands, as well as at a Metropolis very similar to the well-known by everyone but now with a touch of that good to miss.
A careful treatment character makes a brief moment even though they appear to be well formed. Perry White highlight here appears to us actually being a newspaper editor, and not only the topical reflection of that profession, and in the same manner to both Lois and Jimmy behave (more or less) of how someone should do exercising journalism.
While I fault the central story point of pure superhero court, in which some evil aliens coming into our country with the intent to destroy us. Of course it is something more than that, and what will unveil more depth to the protagonist. But even with all it seems a very deep gap, because after an excellent work that is part mediocre.
Nevertheless, and assuming that a review is always a personal opinion, this is a very good job (always the case with this writer) and not only did not disappoint anyone, but he manages to surprise more than one.
