This film is fun for several reasons. There is action, there are cartoonish and cheesy performances, no cars, no velocity, no hosts, no explosions, no naked aunts, there are bad not so bad, and there is no good!, and death is the fundamental element of the story.

Roger Corman in 1975, had already paid most of the time series B. Even you could say that continued to fund and roll the series B droll that we know of 50 and even directed the curious pieces with Vincent Price, Karloff and Lorre.
The director is an unknown actorucho he shot a few movies for decades, also including Cannonball, which is racing and the protagonist is David Carradine (also leaves Stallone).

And on the actors what to say. The principal is David Carradine, who here makes a kind of evil superhero dressed as Darth Vader (literal) and is dubbed Frankenstein. Then there's Sylvester Stallone, who started this film with his talent as a pilot. Before this was done porn (I have not researched a lot but it is well known) in 1968 makes an appearance at Bananas, Woody Allen (anthology making scene with another thug on the subway where there is no text) and after this little film success came to him with Rocky (1976). The story goes that in 2000, in a hypothetical future, the U.S. is in a race car which is the national sport. In this race involving 5 cars "tuned" and must cross the whole country from coast to coast in the shortest possible time. And with one thing: run over people give points, worth more babies and the elderly, women and even more so than young men (Would not it be the other way around?).
Each car is the driver with his co-pilot, and the race goes through many adventures and mishaps.
Well, my feeling about all this is great. The film's argument point by point game Carmageddon. The aesthetics of the cars is so ... crappy (team A had more taste) that reminds me crazy cars. Carradine has to be Dick Dastardly. Stallone is a kind of beast, twisting his mouth and growls, and runs over (perhaps this was conceived the character of Rambo). And the other runners are not even remember because julandrón that dies at the first opportunity, and two aunts who hate and do not transcend. The struggle that keeps
Stallone Carradine is one of the games of the movie, but more, namely that Carradine (Frankenstein) provides for more. On one side is the roll with his co-driver (a blonde hottie) who plans to pounding her career with the aid of French rebels (yes friends, those who want to fuck the race are the Frogs). Then there's his reputation as a national hero who lives to run over. And on the other side a secret wish that routed to a particular destination. And is that all that much for a man, but not for a guy who is himself the grasshopper, Frankenstein and Bill. testosterone stale. That makes the guys laugh. Maybe because the bumper of his car has teeth, and of course, that gives you confidence in yourself.
Understand one thing. The year is 2000. It's the future. The people are Nazis. People enjoy watching others die on television. The president is a supreme being who lives in China. And the prize of the race is shaking hands with the supreme being (which incidentally is a sad bald). The French want to abolish democracy and race. The bad news is bad because society is bad, so not bad. And to make matters worse, his girlfriend he tries to kill all the time and he comes to say Come walk ... how many times do I have to forgive life to fuck.
Seriously, it's memorable. It is a top of the series B. It is impossible not to see certain persecution Spielberg in The Duel. Or that 70's light porn on other occasions. And all spiced up with some stereotypes master. There is even a fan who dresses as Frankenstein Virgin and sacrifices [see photo of girl in the front F] (After Frankenstein meets run her over his co-pilot asked him why did he do that?, Was in love with a laconic Me).
As a curiosity to say that Corman is funding a project for 2008 called Death Race 3000, which runs in 2020 ("imagine what would be run over with flying cars?)
