finally happened. On April 29, 2011 Kate Middleton and William of England voted "I do" in Westminster Abbey, in the eyes of 650 guests and millions of viewers around the world through the broadcasts of different TV channels. The wedding cost millions of euros, which left the taxpayer, and has spared no detail at all keeping the old tradition of ostentatious ceremonies.
The wedding attracted great interest in our country that in the absence of national gossip found its goose that lays the golden eggs when the young couple became engaged. And so the ratings indicate the day, in the wedding magazines liked a lot the most patriotic heart and programs. English TV Morning exceeded 20% of viewers with its special focus on event. Surprising, considering that it was of English royalty.
However, it should be the news of the week, has been reduced to a mere anecdote:
Spain has almost reached the 5 million unemployed, showing that the country is still far from overcoming the crisis that started 3 years ago. It seems that unemployment has become an issue as little news as the death of children in Africa suffer from hunger. Or what is the same, the reality has been converted closer through insesibilización to something that seems not to affect anyone.
The rest of Europe is expressed violently in the streets before the recessions so advanced, getting worse with each passing month. But here the streets are crowded with people only night football victory. And in the past decades, the king of sports and gossip have been the bread and circuses for the population, keeping it distracted while trying to disguise how the country is going down.
In an era of empty content which exalts the figure of the character who is not famous in their own right but because they are "ex", it seems that there is no room for social awareness and the possibility that citizenship is a participant in the action out of a time in a hurry. The populace is more than happy to say the least known.
